These 3 Vids Show How Dangerous It Is For Truckers
If there’s one thing that all truckers can agree on, it’s that other cars on the road should always heed the blind spots and limited stopping power of brakes on a semi.
Still, many drivers don’t seem to respect either of those concepts and there are gigabytes worth of dashcam videos that show just that.
We compiled a few of these clips below. Who do you think is at fault in them?

Stuck between a truck and a hard place...
Viewers are somewhat split on who’s in the wrong here, as the car driver made a terrible decision, but the truck driver didn’t (or couldn’t) stop.

To us, this is an easy call. In a classic “brake check,” this pickup learns the hard (legal) way that it’s just not worth it to play “chicken” with a semi. The truck driver was in the right all along, and had the footage to back it up.

It may seem obvious from the video that the truck on the right-side is at fault here, but as one of the comments makes clear, the road markings may be too vague for someone high up in a semi’s cab...
The chances that a fleet will deal with incidents like these are always high, but good management will have already been prepared for it.
While a good dash cam or Mobile DVR system can back up an insurance claim and help with determining fault, it may even prevent future incidents, with drivers taking extra precaution knowing that their actions are being recorded. Taking it a step further, driver fatigue systems can go as far as to cut down incident rates and insurance costs in the long term. The same goes for 360 systems that help expose blind spots.
