Thanksgiving Travel Tips
• Map your route in advance and be prepared for busy roads. If possible, consider leaving earlier or later to avoid heavy traffic.
• Don’t drive distracted. Put the phone away. Disconnect and drive. Avoid behaviors such as eating, applying make-up and adjusting the navigation system.
• Keep valuables in the trunk or locked area.
• Have your roadside assistance contact information on hand in case an incident occurs on the road.
• Keep a cellphone and charger with you at all times in case of emergency.
• Obey traffic safety laws: Wear your seatbelt; don’t speed; and drive according to the weather and road conditions.
• With an increase in traffic, expect delays and incidents on the side of the road. Obey the Move Over Law.
• Be patient. Understand that everyone is in a hurry to get to their destination. Utilize turn signals, give drivers space and avoid road rage.
Personally I will be spending Thanksgiving with my wife and some friends in New Jersey. Thanksgiving will still bring our entire family together, as everyone always makes my mother's Green Bean Casserole. I'm actually unsure where she got this recipe. It's my 2nd favorite meal of all time, only behind my mom's ham and bean soup. Green Bean Casseroles are going to be made around the country tomorrow, but I know for a fact that my Mom's recipe will be made in Ohio, California, Chicago, and New York. In the spirit of Thanksgiving I wanted to share this recipe with you.
If you make this recipe, please email me a picture at tylerw@rvssystems.com. I would love to see your interpretation! From everyone at Rear View Safety, have a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
