Safety Initiative Award
As a road safety leader and advocate, Rear View Safety is very proud to announce the Safety Initiative Award.
The Safety Initiative Award is given to companies in recognition of steps taken to protect both vehicle operators and pedestrians.
Rear View Safety is acknowledging companies who are taking important steps towards safety. The Safety Initiative Award is also something to proudly frame on the wall for all to see. By prominently displaying their award, companies can show employees, other companies, and the general public how committed they are to safety.

Why create an award for safety? The numbers speak for themselves.
According to Kids and Cars, every week in the United States at least fifty children are backed over by vehicles. 48 of these children are treated for the injuries in emergency rooms, while at least 2 are fatally injured.
According to the Network of Employers for Traffic Safety, motor vehicle crashes killed more than 1,600 people and injured 293,000 while they were working, in 2013. That same year, motor vehicle crash injuries on and off the job cost employers $47.4 billion.
Nearly half of worker fatalities are caused when workers are run over or backed over by vehicles or mobile equipment. More than half of these fatalities were workers struck by construction vehicles, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation. Between 2005 and 2010, run overs and back overs were the cause of 48% of worker fatalities.
In a ten year survey, The California Department Of Transportation reported 2,926 backing crashes, 93.2% of which were determined to have been preventable by the driver.
These statistics are shocking, but together we can change them.
Rear View Safety is not a stranger to the world of safety enhancing products for drivers and vehicles of all types. Recently they introduced GoVue, the first back up camera smartphone app for the popular iOS and Android operating systems. Once the smartphone and camera system are connected via a short-range Wi-Fi network, video information from the rear of the vehicle is transmitted to the smartphone in real time. This eliminates the need for a primary monitor to be installed into the dashboard of the vehicle in question. The GoVue back up camera application for iOS and Android devices is currently available for free download in the Google Play Store, the iTunes App Store. Rear View Safety has long been a leader in vehicle safety solutions. The commercial backup provider is also on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
