Industry Leader Rear View Safety and National Advocacy Group KidsAndCars.org Promote Car Safety Awareness at July 2015 NASCAR Event
Rear View Safety, the industry leader in the sales and distribution of backup camera systems and technology, as well as a dedicated road safety advocate, recently teamed up with KidsAndCars.org to sponsor important safety information for fans at a NASCAR event which took place in Indianapolis, Indiana in July of 2015. The goal of the effort was to provide a higher level of education regarding best practices for safety as it relates to rearview visibility, by promoting awareness of the very serious issues that are affecting our children and other pedestrians on a regular basis.
The event itself was the Brickyard 400, presented by Crown Royal. In addition to a weekend of fun-filled, family friendly events like children-only autograph sessions and races featuring many legends of the sport, the Brickyard 400 also featured an educational PSA from KidsAndCars.org and Rear View Safety which displayed throughout the event on the megatron screen. In addition, brand ambassadors spoke with fans and educated them about dangers children face behind motor vehicles and how a rear view camera can address the issue. By bringing this educational and informative content to the raceway capital of the United States, the goal was to help raise awareness to certain best practices that can protect our children whenever a vehicle is around. In particular, the video was intended to educate drivers that they all have a large blind zone behind their vehicle that could be addressed by adding a rear view camera to the vehicle. KidsAndCars.org is a national non-profit safety organization that is dedicated to protecting children in and around motor vehicles. In 2014 alone, there were 71 child fatalities due to backovers in the United States of America. In addition to working to address backovers, KidsAndCars.org works to prevent other non-traffic and non-crash incidents including frontovers, vehicular heat stroke and power window strangulation.
One of the many ways to combat the issue of limited rearward visibility is to install a backup camera system in your vehicle. Rear View Safety specializes in these types of solutions and makes them readily available for all makes and models on a regular basis. A small camera is installed on the rear of a vehicle that sends a live video feed directly to the driver. Knowing exactly what is going on behind a vehicle can significantly reduce the danger to children from things like back-over injuries, or even death.

Rear View Safety is not a stranger to the world of safety enhancing products for drivers and vehicles of all types. Recently they introduced GoVue, the first backup camera smartphone app for the popular iOS and Android operating systems. Once the smartphone and camera system are connected via a short-range Wi-Fi network, video information from the rear of the vehicle is transmitted to the smartphone in real time. This eliminates the need for a primary monitor to be installed into the dashboard of the vehicle in question. The GoVue backup camera application for iOS and Android devices is currently available for free download in the Google Play Store, the iTunes App Store.
The commercial backup camera provider is also available on Facebook, on Twitter, and maintains a Road Safety Resource site.
