We love our dealers and are excited to show our appreciation with a new series, featuring some of Rear View Safety's most beloved dealers! We spoke to Ray Terrell, the Owner of New England Mobile about his company, their mission, and the RVS difference.
Note: This interview has been edited and condensed for clarity.
Ray Terrell: I started New England Mobile back in 1982, in Milford, MA. Just me and a briefcase. Initially, we were just in the 2 way commercial radio business, but once Nextel came on the scene, I saw the writing on the wall, and we transitioned into providing other products for other industries as well and moved into our property in Bellingham. We have our own in house team for software and hardware installation, and IT team. Whatever we sell, we service.
RVS: Do you see the industries moving more towards fleet tracking?
RT:Absolutely. For both legal and safety reasons, it's a necessary thing in order to stay competitive these days. With the tools that we offer, it just makes their life a lot easier.
RVS: How did your relationship with RVS start?
RT: At the end of 2016, we were looking for a stronger partner in the 12V camera industry. Thankfully, Rear View Safety was able to offer that to us.
RVS: What is your favorite Rear View Safety system?
RT: We're ordering quite a bit of the MobileMule™ 5500 DVR Series these days, and we attach various cameras to that. There's an awful lot of DVRs out there on the market, but they're cheaply built and many don't offer locking capabilities. Most of these tractor-trailers are bumpy even smooth roads and they'll put any piece of equipment to the test. The 5500 series is sturdy, well built, and holds up under rugged conditions. I like that the RVS-5500W is waterproof. We also like the LK-9390 and the DR750S cameras.

RVS: On to a couple fun questions. If Ray Terrell was a vehicle, which vehicle would he be?
RT: Hmmm, I think I would be a very roomy SUV that drives like a sedan.
RVS: If you went on a 12 hour road trip and could only take along one band's music, who would it be?
RT: I love all types of music, but I would go with Creedence Clearwater (Revival).
Thanks, Ray!
